In the light of the Government’s latest advice concerning coronavirus, the Ellingham Board of Trustees have decided that the most responsible course of action will be for us to temporarily close down our services for a period of 3 weeks in order to protect our clients and staff.

Chris Bailey, Chair of Trustees has released the following statement:

"At Ellingham Employment Services, we have been protecting the welfare of our clients & staff for nearly 40 years, and this commitment has helped us weather many storms.

In these worrying times, our thoughts are with all who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, and we wanted to share with you the precautions we are taking in our services in response to the outbreak.

Ellingham’s Board of Trustees met to discuss the situation - with full consideration and input from Ellingham’s Senior Management Team and paying particular attention to the worries of parent/carers.  The safety of our vulnerable clients & the staff who work with them was considered to be paramount. The Board would like to record our thanks to our committed staff teams who constantly strive to protect our clients and to provide the best service we can.

A decision has been reluctantly taken to temporarily suspend our services for 3 weeks (initially), with the units closing the afternoon of 19^th March 2020.  During the closure period, staff will remain in touch with clients from time to time.  If you have any queries during this time, please do not hesitate to email or telephone the manager of your department.  As new information becomes available, Trustees and Senior Managers will be discussing changes & modifications to our services, and we will naturally keep you fully informed. 

We appreciate this may cause you inconvenience & disruption, but our priority has to be to our vulnerable clients in these unprecedented times. 

We would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation. 

We look forward to seeing everybody back together again as soon as is safely possible.
