We are establishing opportunities for people with SEND to learn, intern and work in the coffee industry, mentoring them in real work environments across the coffee industry.

Currently we are working in partnership with Newham Council and Newham College to provide a Barista Supported Internship programme for young people (18-25) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) - to offer training, internship placements and ultimately paid work as Baristas in the coffee industry.

SEND Coffee & Ellingham have developed our own one year Barista Supported Internship program for young people aged 18-26, who would like to progress into employment within the speciality coffee industry.

Social Enterprise

We are currently working on the establishment of a sustainable Wholesale Coffee Community Interest Company - SEND Coffee CIC - to enhance our work in creating pathways to employment for young people aged 18-25 with special educational needs and learning disabilities.

Additionally, sales of wholesale coffee will eventually generate a new revenue stream that Ellingham will spend on delivering impact for those with SEN.
