Learn By Doing

Supported internships are 12 month programmes based primarily at an employer, designed to equip participants with the skills they need for work through learning in a real workplace.

Using this approach, young adults with SEN or learning disabilities are given the opportunity to develop sustainable workplace experiences by working in a commercial business environment.

Interns will benefit from a variety of placements and work experience suited to their individual abilities.

Participants will work alongside staff from at a range of locations in and around London, supported by a job coach provided by Ellingham.

Initial training will be available on the public transport routes to and from work placements.

Toward the end of the course participants will receive support from Ellingham to search for and gain paid employment following the programme.
